Netball Coaching Position – Paid Position

Purpose of the position:
To coach 1-3 selected teams as provided by your head coach
To support the head coach when required

REQUIREMENTS:

1. To provide coaching and training and implementing duties as defined by St Cecilia’s and The Head Coach

2. To be responsible for all aspects of organisation relating to the Team

3. Overseeing the well being of team members

4. To act as a liaison between players, team managers and head coach

5. Must have working with children’s check and VNA registration

6. Available Saturday for game and training days, either Tuesday or Wednesday (TBC)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Understand and adhere to WDNA and St Cecilias netball policies and codes of conduct.

2. It is an expectation that the Coach will have read the
- player code of conduct
- the coach code of conduct
- parent code of conduct

That the coach will be familiar with these documents referencing these as guiding documents where appropriate in the resolution of concerns. Knowledge of these documents assists the WDNA and St Cecilia’s in communicating and adopting a shared understanding with regard to process and core values.

3. Ensure that all players receive timely and clear communication regarding relevant game, training, and WDNA related events.

4. Adhere to the head coach training program and attend training sessions which are either on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

5. Where possible the Coach will attend all team events, games and training and in their absence they will inform the Head coach.

6. Be available if required to umpire Saturday afternoons

7. Decide coaches award for each season

8. On game day, collect and complete best and fairest voting and organise a captain to sign the score sheet

HELPFUL PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS:

1. The capacity to be an efficient organizer with effective interpersonal skills and the ability to be discreet in communicating with a diverse array of adults, young adults and adolescents.

2. Ability and desire to communicate and work with players.

3. Ability and desire to communicate with guardians/parents.

4. The ability and willingness to work collaboratively with the WDNA and team coach.

5. The willingness to positively support in a proactive manner the efforts of the WDNA and the respective team.
